Position Overview:

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a construction project, ensuring that it is completed on time, within budget, and up to quality standards. The Superintendent is also responsible for managing and supervising the construction team, including subcontractors and vendors, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage the construction project to ensure it is completed on time and within budget
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to stay on schedule and within budget
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks
  • Inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and make necessary corrections or recommendations
  • Manage and track project budget, including cost estimates, change orders, and expenses
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, providing updates on progress, issues, and solutions
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors
  • Train and supervise construction team, including subcontractors and vendors, to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including plans, permits, and reports
  • Resolve any conflicts or issues that arise on the construction site

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, processes, and materials
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
  • Proficient in computer software and applications related to construction management
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
