LOCATION: Memphis (TN)
We are assisting a client that supports Tennesseans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) of all ages, to reach their maximum abilities and to lead dignified and meaningful lives through their Group Homes/Intermediate Care Facilities - meeting the lifelong needs of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Is your passion working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities? If so, we want to hear from you. You will supervise LPN / LVNs providing care for residents living in several Group Home Settings around the Memphis, TN area.
The ideal candidate will have some supervisory experience, good assessment skills. Experience working with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is a plus but you will be trained on working with the IDD population. Candidates should be capable of providing oversight and training of direct care staff in the monitoring of the medical systems. Additionally, the nurse will participate in team meetings and provide medically related in-services to program staff.
Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Support medically frail people with disabilities
Provide ongoing clinical supervision in collaboration with administrated supervisor to all nurses within the region
Organize and provide clinical training in meetings
Serve as a resource to the department members and agency staff by providing information as needed
Select, orient, train, counsel, discipline and direct all nursing staff in collaboration with supervisors in the region
To provide direct assistance in providing clinical coverage as requested by the Nursing coordinator, in any other aspect of the operation of the Nursing Department
Take leadership role in setting up new nurses' orientation schedules, training and supervision
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Registered Nurses license as issued by the State Board of Nursing and be in good standing with the State of Tennessee
Driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Prefer experience in supervision of other nurses
Experience with intellectually and developmentally disabled population, preferred but not required
Med/Surg experience
Nursing homes, rehabs, or chronic/geriatric care experience
