ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER 

Salary- From $60K- commensurate with experience

We're currently seeking an experienced Assistant Branch Manager to help us keep our Avon, Massachusetts branch ticking like clockwork. What You'll Be Doing

  • Overseeing the general operations of the Branch.
  • Developing and maintaining strong business relationships with customers and addressing their issues effectively.
  • Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, including safety, personnel, security, pest control, and shrink control.
  • Reviewing financial and operational reports and taking necessary actions based on report results.
  • Directing subordinates to ensure efficient warehouse operations including safety, sanitation, inventory, merchandising, receiving, stocking, order pulling, shipping, and in-store customer service.
  • Defining the service standards and the operational mission of the branch, communicating it to the employees and monitoring activities to meet the branch's goals.
  • Maximizing sales opportunities by ensuring high levels of customer service and proper workforce scheduling.
  • Managing selection, annual performance appraisals, and professional development of all Management-level personnel.
  • Directly supervising and managing department managers.
  • Coaching managers on employee relation issues such as new hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, and any disciplinary action including termination.
  • Maintaining communication with the Corporate Offices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Reviewing inventory regularly to ensure that the inventory is correct and the products are in-house.
  • Completing and processing necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum 4 years of management experience in food service or grocery distribution in a supermarket, club warehouse, big box, or mass merchandising environment
  • Background in Profit & Loss, Inventory control, merchandising, hiring/training staff, front end, cash control, payroll, security/loss prevention
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, capable of running a high volume warehouse operation
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in managing personnel issues and supervision
  • Proven track record in maintaining company standards and ensuring employee accountability
  • Experience in developing strong business relationships with customers, resolving problems effectively
  • Knowledge and compliance with established policies and procedures such as safety (HACCP, OSHA), personnel, security, pest control, and shrink control
  • Ability to review financial and operational reports and take necessary actions based on report results
  • Able to direct subordinates in managing all warehouse operations including safety, sanitation, shelf labels, inventory, merchandising, receiving, stocking, stacking position, order pulling, shipping, and in-store customer service
  • Previous responsibility for maximizing sales opportunities by ensuring high levels of customer service and proper scheduling of the workforce while meeting budgetary guidelines
  • Proven ability to manage selection, annual performance appraisals and professional development of all Management level personnel
  • Experience in coaching managers on employee relation issues such as new hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions including termination
  • Familiarity with completing and processing necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.
