Position: Billing Assistant (Part Time)

Location: Whitehouse Station, NJ

Schedule: Part time 25 hours/week, M-F. Schedule will fall between 8am-6pm ET

Worksite Arrangement: In-office 4-5 days/week based on assigned part-time hours

Starting Compensation: $18/hr

Overview:

Avenica is currently evaluating talent for a Billing Assistant to handle finance related inquiries within the insurance industry. This person will be responsible for verifying and processing financial and claims data, as well as resolving payment discrepancies.

Responsibilities of the Billing Assistant:

• Research rejected invoices to verify information, identify errors and make corrections accordingly.
• Research and analyze claim data in various systems.
• Find and correct errors in the internal records system.
• Process and record payments.
• Communicate with Claim Examiners via email regarding internal department financial inquiries and information.
• Maintain organized records of corrected invoices and updated data.

Requirements:

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of related billing or claims experience required
• Professional experience using Excel for reporting and analyzing data, including vLookup and/or pivot tables
• Service-oriented and strong verbal and written professional communication skills 
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US, Avenica is not able to provide sponsorship at this time
• Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate new systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with efficiency and accuracy
